There’s More to Contacts Than Meets the Eye
Contact lenses can do much more than correct your vision—they’re medical devices designed to help you live with clarity and comfort.
Dr. Daynes works one-on-one with you to prescribe contact lenses that can support your overall quality of life. We can even prescribe a variety of specialty contact lenses to help address specific eye care and vision needs, such as dry eye, keratoconus, and astigmatism.
We walk you through the details, give practical advice, and always have your best interests in mind. Find out how contact lenses can serve you when you visit us for an exam and fitting.

Book AppointmentContacts & Glasses: Better Together
One thing we always stress to our patients is that contact lenses are not a replacement for eyeglasses.
When you require vision correction, contacts and glasses are essential to helping you see clearly, but events like misplacing your lenses or evolving eye care needs can affect the type of correction you may use.
We always recommend having both, so you don’t have to worry about blurry sight.
Book AppointmentAre Contacts Right for You?
Before prescribing contact lenses, we need to perform an eye exam. During the eye exam, we take a detailed look at your lifestyle and eye care needs to determine if contacts are suitable for you.
We Might Not Recommend Contacts if You…
- Live or work in dry, dusty, dirty environments
- Struggle with dry eye symptoms
- Have certain eye diseases or conditions
- Live with eye allergies
- Regularly develop eye infections
Caring for Your Contact Lenses
As much as contact lenses are devices to help you see, they are also a responsibility. Proper care and storage help contacts last longer and reduce the risk of discomfort and even infections.
You Can Care for Your Contacts By…
- Using recommended lens solutions for cleaning and storage
- Washing your hands before and after use
- Drying your hands with a lint-free cloth before use
- Keeping your storage case clean
- Keeping up with regular eye exams
Specialty Contact Lenses We Offer
Depending on your eye care needs, we can prescribe specialty contact lenses to help you achieve the clarity and comfort you seek.
Specialty contacts—like the ones we offer at Daynes Eye & Lasik—can help address conditions like dry eye, keratoconus, and astigmatism.
However, specialty contacts are not a treatment for these conditions. We recommend having a pair of glasses with you in case your contacts cause discomfort and to keep up with your regular eye exam appointments.
Scleral Contacts
Scleral contacts have a larger diameter than traditional contacts. These rest on the whites of your eyes, called the sclera, allowing the center of the lens to “vault” over your eye surface while correcting your vision and keeping your eyes comfortable.
Scleral lenses are specifically used to address symptoms related to dry eye and keratoconus.
Contacts for Astigmatism
Astigmatism is a common issue affecting your vision clarity at all distances. It develops when your cornea or natural lens has a different shape than normal.
Toric contacts help by having a specific shape designed to address your needs. These lenses also have a small weight built in to help align it correctly on your eye.
